Case Study – Video City

One of Glasgow’s most experienced young film-makers, James Lang, has launched his own business, Video City which has already won business from rock bands through word of mouth recommendations.

His company produces marketing videos for both music industry and retail clients using a combination of live film and computer-generated text and graphics to create innovative promotional films.  With Video City he also provides post production facilities including audio mixing and mastering.

Transmit Start-Ups loan has supported James’ business by helping to fund him upgrading his technical equipment, cameras and lenses.

A graduate in Audio Technology and Multimedia from Glasgow Caledonian University, James has an impressive track record in video and music production with major entertainment and film companies, the BBC and STV.

His CV includes soundtrack composition for FIFA 2005 for EA Sports, a session musician for Echo and the Bunnymen, video editing for the Split Festival 2014, and video director for various rock and pop artists .

James has also worked as a recording studio manager for Radio City Studio in Glasgow and produced music for Attic Lights and Lonely Tourist.
