We recently featured new member to the team Chloe Dale, who works as our Projects Assistant. Now a couple of months on, she is firmly bedded into Team Transmit, so we caught up with Chloe again to find out how she is finding her role and what her day to day activities look like.
What is your current position at Transmit Start-Ups? Tell us a little about your role and what it entails.
I currently work as a ‘Projects Assistant’ at Transmit. At the moment, I am working on a new project which we hope to launch soon. Most of my time is spent researching and planning in order to help the project run smoothly. My main responsibility with regards to this project is compiling and maintaining a database of alternative business finance providers.
What does a typical day at Transmit Start-Ups look like for you?
Each day is different because Transmit is a really fast-paced environment but I am typically researching or planning something! I also spend quite a lot of time talking and developing ideas with the directors and my colleagues about the project I’m working on.
What is your background prior to joining Transmit Start-Ups and what made you decide to join the company?
I’m currently a final year undergraduate at Newcastle University studying English Literature and got my job here at Transmit through a summer work experience scheme at University. When the placement ended, the team asked me to stay on and obviously, I said yes! Prior to my job at Transmit, I had worked at a local museum and in a call centre which, combined with my degree, has given me a nice mix of skills which I think allow me to work really well at Transmit. The main thing I’ve learnt here is that you don’t necessarily have to have a business background to do well here, the main thing is the right attitude and plenty of enthusiasm.
What do you like to do away from the office to relax, do you have any hobbies or other interests?
When I’m not at Transmit, I’m usually studying but when I do get the chance to relax I love to do yoga – it’s great when I’ve been sat at a desk all day!
What is it about working at Transmit Start-Ups that you like?
I think Transmit is a great place to work because it’s so laid-back. You are free to work in whichever way is best for you to get the job done well. This freedom allows everyone to do their best and I think that makes Transmit such an exciting place to work. The legendary Transmit jukebox also helps!
