You may be aware of BBC Bitesize, an online service created by the BBC that is dedicated to supporting and helping school students nationwide across both primary and secondary age with their studies.

The service is a free resource for both schools and students to use and helps younger learners to complete schoolwork and older students to revise for important exams. This year the BBC has big plans for the expansion of Bitesize as it introduces the addition of secondary age careers content.

As part of this new secondary age careers content, BBC Bitesize is taking to the road to deliver a series of one-hour sessions in schools across the North East, Yorkshire & Humberside throughout January, February and March 2019.

These short, yet impactful sessions will focus on careers within the Creative Industries and will feature a panel of practicing professionals with the aim to offer an inspiring insight into the world of creative work. The sessions will also highlight the many different routes into the creative industry and the wide range of opportunities and roles that are available within these sectors that students may not have considered.

At Transmit Startups we’re working with BBC Bitesize to secure some great entrepreneurial minds among the creative industries to form these panels. If you’re a brilliant local creative, then we’d love for you to work with BBC Bitesize to inspire the next generation.

We are looking for people who would be interested in being involved as guest panellists on one of, or a few of the dates between Jan 22nd & March 29th to share your career story, explaining for example what you and your company does and how many different types of jobs and opportunities there are in your sector.

BBC Bitesize will be delivering 2 x 1 hour sessions within a day, and so would require you to be available for the full day, for both sessions.  The two sessions will be held within just one school, however this won’t always be possible and it may be necessary to visit two separate schools in a day.

If you’re a practicing professional within a creative industry and interested in offering your insight, career stories, and helping to inspire children on their career journey possibilities, then please get in touch with us today at and we’ll happily pass on your details to the team at BBC Bitesize.
