Sleep sounder, business founder!

HOME / / Sleep sounder, business founder!

We've got a new course on legal essentials for startup businesses!

Small business experts, Smarta, have launched their latest online course for business owners. Letter of the Law is an 8-hour online course covering the essential legal knowledge new businesses NEED to know.

The aim of the course is to help business owners sleep sounder, knowing they’re fully compliant with UK law. It covers three main areas:
Legal status
The different UK business structures available to new businesses, how to choose the right one and then register with the relevant authorities
Regulation and compliance
All the different laws and regulations you need to know about and observe to stay on the right side of the law, like H&S and insurances
Your business and the law
Exploring different legal requirements for different types of business, so you know EXACTLY which laws your business needs to observe
The course is delivered 100% online, allowing busy business owners to fit it around their work commitments. And for some learners, it’s available free thanks to funding from the European Social Fund.
Smarta director and startup expert Rich Myers explains the thinking behind the self-study course:
‘When you start a new business, you don’t know what you don’t know. So many business owners are constantly worrying whether they’ve ticked all the legal boxes they need to. This course is designed to give new business owners the confidence to say “Yes, I’ve done everything I need to. My business is fully compliant and legal”.’
Despite the dry-sounding subject matter, Smarta promises the course will be engaging and easy to understand - thanks, in part, to the unique Smarta style.
Business owners will join a small group of fellow learners, either learning live online or catching up with on-demand video. Tutors Tracey and Colin will be joined by a cast of characters that make learning fun and complex topics easy to grasp.
At the end of the course, learners will be able to:
  • Select the appropriate legal status for your business

  • Comply with legal requirements of setting up and running a business

But the most important thing, explains Rich, is confidence. The confidence of knowing your business is operating to the letter of the law.
‘Don’t let doubt derail your business startup plans. Many new business owners lose sleep wondering if there are legal requirements they don’t know about. After just 8 hours on this course, you’ll not have that worry. And you’ll be able to focus 100% on building a business you love.’
If you’re ready to sleep sounder as a business founder, the course is open for enrolment. Places are limited so reserve your slot now.
