What do I do if I am unable to provide a Passport, Driving Licence, EU Identity Card or UK Military ID?

If you have not been able to provide a Passport, Driving Licence, EU Identity Card or UK Military ID then you must provide a copy of two letters issued by different Government departments dated within the last 12 months.

Each letter must:

  • Be dated within the last 12 months

  • Show the issuer’s letterhead/information

  • Have been received through the post

  • Have been sent to your current residential address

  • Be submitted in full, including any extra pages

What we need to see:

  • Your full name

  • Your current residential address

  • Your date of birth or National Insurance Number

How to send us your documents:

To send your ID and address documents to us, you can:

  • Attach them to an email and send to our Admin Team

  • Make an appointment to bring them to our office in Gateshead

  • For very large files, use an online service such as We Transfer

If you are scanning or photographing the documents please make sure the scans capture the full document and are good quality images.

We can accept letters from these Government departments:

  • HM Revenue & Customs (we do not accept P60 or P45 documents)

  • Child Support Agency

  • Department for Work & Pensions

  • Benefits Agency

  • Jobcentre Plus
