Transmit Startups are ending their direct relationship with the British Business Bank as a delivery partner for the scheme, after helping 15,000 startups secure £175million in startup financing.
Commercial Director Richard Myers said: “We’re immensely proud of the work we’ve done for the last eleven years on the Start Up Loans scheme and the quality of service and support that we’ve been able to provide.
“Joining the scheme in its infancy, just ‘three guys in Gateshead’, we’ve gone on to become the biggest delivery partner and support over 15,000 people to start and grow their own businesses.
“We will continue to generate applications for Start Up Loans as it is an invaluable source of finance and support for new businesses. However, there is considerable value in the Transmit Startups brand so we are open to offers from companies interested in acquiring it.
Many of the 30-strong team, based in Gateshead and around the UK, will now be looking for other opportunities over the coming months as Transmit’s direct delivery of Start Up Loans winds down.
The company’s eLearning platform, Smarta, continues to gather momentum as people look to self-employment and ‘side hustles’ to beat the impact of the cost of living crisis.
Operations Director Ian Straker added: “Our people are, without exception, brilliant. They have always been the heart and soul of a service which was only ever partly about business finance - and far more about the futures of real people trying to live their business dreams.”
"We’re delighted to be the 2000th loan recipients!"
