Diary of a Start-Up: The Alchemist Cocktails’s Kirsty Gurr on Her 6 Month Milestone
HOME / / Diary of a Start-Up: The Alchemist Cocktails’s Kirsty Gurr on Her 6 Month Milestone
Six months ago, Kirsty Gurr became our 1,000th start-up loan recipient, founding her very own business The Alchemist Cocktails. We’ve been following her progress through our ‘Diary of a Start-Up’ blog series where Kirsty shares with us insights into her journey as an entrepreneur.
We caught up with Kirsty to find out what month six of start-up life has brought her.
“Last month was really quiet with my van Rita back in the garage for a bit of TLC, but that gave me lots of time to chase up the wedding enquiries I had had after exhibiting at the Edinburgh Wedding Exhibition, which was great.
“This month has been particularly exciting. On October 30th, I appeared in The Sunday Times to tell my start-up story. Seeing Rita looking so great and reading my story in black-and-white really brought home how far I’ve come.
“I've also been booked for a charity marathon at Holyrood Park called the reindeer run on the 11th of December. The Reindeer Run is a fun run or walk 1k, 5k or 10k in the stunning surroundings of Holyrood Park and is all in aid of Bloodwise (Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research).
“Although I had expected that winter would be much quieter, it’s great to have events like The Reindeer Run coming up – and even better that it’s for a great cause! Any spare moments will be spent following up on wedding enquiries and other bookings to make sure I’m ready for a busy 2017!”
